FAQ- Frequently Asked Questions about this Mobile Massage Service
1) What should I expect on my first session?
On your first visit you will be asked to fill in a consultation form, which will give me an idea of your general health and level of discomfort or pain. We can then discuss any particular areas of concern that I should focus on to ensure you get the best out of the massage treatment. Subsequently, you are guaranteed to receive the professional massage which you have chosen and that even from the first session you will feel the improvement for your needs.
 
2) Do I need to be completely undressed?
No, you do not need to be completely undressed. You undress only to your comfort level, and you have to leave your underwear on, and you will be covered with a towel as well.
 
3) Which area of my body will be massaged?
The full body treatment will be focused on back, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs and feet (excluding genital areas). You will be fully covered with a towel throughout the massage session and uncovering only the parts needed to be massage. The women clients is assured that the breast area will not be massaged and will remain fully covered throughout the treatment to ensure comfort and privacy.
 
4) Do I need to prepare anything for the massage?
Yes, please ensure that all jewellery is removed prior to your treatment. You will need to prepare a big towel to cover yourself. If you do not have a towel, do not worry as I will have a spare one, just in case. Aside from that, I will bring everything required (such as massage table, best quality oil, oil gel or lotion, music) to provide you with a complete service at your home.
 
5) How long will a massage treatment last?
A massage treatment can last depending on your choice of duration. You will always receive the exact amount of time which you have wanted. For instance, if you have chosen 60 minutes session, you will definitely receive at least 60 minutes of it. Unlike some places or therapists who offer 60 minutes, but you only receive 45 minutes. I am fair to everyone, such that you will receive what you have paid for.
 
6) Will the massage hurt?
Deep tissue or Sport massage treatment may cause a slight discomfort, but it always has to be within your tolerance level. If you have areas of deep-rooted tension, there may be some discomfort, as I will work on removing blockages using Neuromuscular Technique on the trigger point areas. I will discuss the level of pressure before and during the treatment and I will always work within your own personal comfort zone. The important thing to focus on is how great you are going to feel afterwards. There are many treatments that do not cause any discomfort at all like a Swedish Relaxing Massage, Body Brush and Scrub Massage or Anti-Stress Massage.
 
7) How will I feel after a massage?
Mostly people feel rejuvenated, flexible, and pain and stress free. Well, it may be different to some people since most will feel instantly re-energised and lighter after the treatment, while others may feel relaxed and quite sleepy. After a Deep Tissue or Sport Massage treatment, you will feel very relaxed and sometimes a little sore but it is part of the therapeutic reaction.
 
8) What should I do after a massage?
It is highly recommended to drink several glasses of fresh water after the treatment to re-hydrate your muscles and to help flush out the toxins of your system which has been released during the massage.
 
9) How often should I get a massage?
I would recommend receiving treatments once a week, but the more treatments you have the more relaxed and healthier you would be. If you have an acute problem, it is best to have 1 or 2 treatments a week over 4 to 5 weeks to speed up the recovery until you feel better. Otherwise, depending on your needs and your financial position, you could have a massage once a week, every 2 or 3 weeks or even once a month. If you receive regular massages, it will help prevent many illnesses, injuries or even operations. Bear in mind that investing on your health is the best investment of all.
 
10) When should I not get a massage?
Massage treatments are non-invasive, relaxing, and natural treatments and are therefore generally considered safe for most people.
Below are some of the listed contraindications when massage should not be performed at all:
  • Fever
  • Contagious diseases including any cold or flu
  • Under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Recent operations
  • Skin diseases
  • Undiagnosed lumps or bumps
  • Inflammation, arthritis
  • Cardiovascular conditions like thrombosis, phlebitis, heart condition
  • Oedema
  • Infections, Disease
  • Straight after an accident or recent bone fractures.
 
11) How do I know which massage therapy is good for me?
Please read the Massage Types which are offered on this website so you will have an idea of the service that you deem suitable to you. During the consultation and after having discussed your needs and objectives, I will advise you on what would be the best type of treatment for you.
 
12) Can I book massages for more than one person?
Yes, certainly. Just inform me that you want to book for massages for more people and I will make it for you. If you are organising a pamper party for your family, friends & yourself in the comfort of your own home or on an event, I will tailor made to suit your event needs.
 
13) Can anyone receive Massage Therapy?
Yes, massage is appropriate for individual of all ages including babies, children, pregnant women and the elderly. However, there are conditions that are contraindicated (see question 10 contraindication section).
 
14) Are you a registered Massage Therapist?
Yes, I am a registered member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), which is the largest and leading professional association for therapists in the UK and accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. I was also a registered FHT co-coordinator for Local Support Group of South London.
 
15) How do I pay for the service? 
You pay in cash (Pounds) direct after the treatment. At present, I do not accept credit or debit cards as I do not have card facilities. However, you can pay online by PayPal in advance, or if you become a regular client, payment via bank transfer or cheque will be available.
 
16) What if I need to cancel?
I understand that life can be unpredictable at times, so if you need to cancel your appointment, I do not charge any cancellation fees if appointment cancelled over 24 hours before booked appointment. All I ask of you is to please respect my time and give me as much notice as possible.
However, if appointment cancelled 12 hours before booked appointment it requires £30 as cancellation fee or if cancelled within 3 hours of booked appointment it requires 100% of the booked treatment fee to be paid as it gives me no time to schedule anyone in.
 
 
17) Can I get any extras apart from massage?
No, I do not offer sensual or sexual services of any kind.  I am a licensed and qualified therapist and do not offer any extras. Please respect me and do not make any indecent proposals.
 
18) What is Massage Therapy?
Massage therapy is the manipulation of soft tissues of the body including muscles, connective tissue (fascia), tendons, ligaments and joints.
